Copper-alloy single-loop 'stirrup-shaped' buckle or strap fitting of medieval date (c. AD 1300 - 1450), complete with copper-alloy pin. The buckle frame is broadly D-shaped, with a prominent collared knop at the apex of curved end. One end of a square-sectioned blunt-ended pin is coiled around the strap bar. The object is dark brown in colour. It is 28.18mm in length, 19.30mm in width and 3.19mm in thickness. It weighs 2.89g. No clear parallels have been found for this buckle but double looped buckles are known to be decorated with a ring and dot pattern in the Post-Medieval broadly dating 1500 to 1700AD. An incomplete post-medieval copper-alloy sub-annular buckle frame with central bar, creating two loops. It is missing a pin. The frame is oval in shape and triangular in cross-section, the underside being flat and the outside edge to the front convex. The central bar is rectangular in cross-section, being taller than it is wide. The length is 42mm, the width is 33mm and the weight 6.46g. Whitehead has published similar buckles (Whitehead 2003, 48) for which he suggests the date 1650-1720.

Late Medieval copper alloy single loop trapezoidal buckle frame. It is an asymmetric trapezoid in plan, with an expanded outer edge and a recessed strap bar. The front edge and sides of the buckle are bevelled, creating a convex side profile. The front edge has been decorated with four diagonal paired rows of impressed dots. The reverse of the buckle frame is concave and undecorated. The pin is absent. The buckle shares similarities with Whitehead's No.133 and No.167. Dates to between c1300 and c1500 AD. The buckle frame measures 26mm in length, 13mm wide, and weighs 3.28g.

The buckle frame is sub-rectangular to sub-annular in plan with rounded ends, and curved in longitudinal section with the decorated outer face being convex face. The decoration consists of moulded rosettes (four large and four small) linked by sprigs of leaves. The frame has been drilled to accommodate the spindle for the iron pitchfork tongue.
