A complete medieval silver hammered groat of King Edward IV (AD 1461-1470, 1471-1483), of the Second Reign (AD 1471-1483). Type XVIII with no fleurs on cusps on breast or above crown on obverse. Initial mark on obverse of pierced cross with pellet in second quarter; initial mark on reverse of pierced cross with pellet in third quarter, dating to c. AD 1477-1480. Mint: London. There is a transverse bar on the copula (backwards 'Z') abbreviation for 'et' in the obverse legend. On the reverse, a sun is used as a stop after 'DEVM'.
