A complete copper alloy trade weight, one of a set that would have stacked. It is circular with a raised rim, and the weight would suggest that it is 1/2 ounce. Inside are the stamps of a laver or coffee pot, the inspection mark of the Worshipful Company of Founders, who controlled the lawful making of weights in London and for three miles around (Withers and Withers 2011, page 78). A small, domed copper alloy button with a hollow back, into which the shank, which is broken, is fixed. The face is decorated with a moulded, regular floral design, and has been gilded. The makers name is moulded around the edge on the rear of the button. A complete copper alloy terret ring. It is oval in shape with a sub-square drop ring attached. The ring is teardrop shaped in section with a ridge along the external diameter. It is of Lewis type 19, a continental influenced or imported terret of drop bar type. Similar examples on the database include ESS-CEA70D and LIN-159D68. A complete copper alloy dress hook The artefact body is broadly circular, with openwork moulding in the form of four circles either side of the central motif. In the base is a V shaped frame and sitting in this is a relief moulded pineapple or pine cone. An almost complete copper alloy brooch of headstud type. The bow has a moulded stud on the curve at the top. The short wings extend either side of the head, and above these the plate on which the missing spring and pin would have mounted is present, decorated with three horizontal lines. The bow ends with a circular foot. The catch plate is present but incomplete. The cylindrical mount for the spring is still on the reverse but is incomplete. A copper alloy ingot. It is basically rectangular in shape but with rounded ends and a waisted centre. It is flat on the bottom and domed on the top. The base has a series of vertical lines moulded into it which may be a relic of the moulding process. Section of a copper alloy knobbed terret ring of probable later Iron Age or early Roman dating. It would be D shaped in plan when complete, what survives here is part of the base and a section of one side. The base is sub-rectangular in section, and is divided by a circular collar protruding from the ring, which has suffered some damage on one side. This has a central line moulded into it. A cooper alloy pommel cap from a sword or knife. It is circular in shape. There is a central flat ring, and from this the two faces are convex. There are circular holes present top and bottom for fixing to the hilt, these might suggest a knife or dagger pommel rather than one for a sword. There is no apparent decoration, and there is some pitting on the surface, although it has an even, dark green patina. It is probably an Oakeshott Type G style. A section of a copper alloy axehead. It is triangular in section, being a blunt point on one side, and crescent shaped, but not symmetrical across its break, being more pointed at one end than the other. The blade is not facetted. There is some loss of material from the faces. Along the broken face there is a suggestion that it might have been hollow and therefore a section of socketed axehead, but this is not definitive.
