Post Medieval copper alloy 'Pineapple Penny' token of Barbados. On the obverse there is an African's head facing left and wearing a crown with Prince of Wales plumes. On the reverse is a drop shaped pineapple. These 'pennies' were not official currency, but said to be an anti-slavery campaign token commissioned by Sir Philip Gibbes (1731 - 1815). Two worn copper alloy farming tokens. One shows a horse (or possibly a deer) standing, facing left, the obverse is too degraded to interpret. This is 15mm diameter. The second is slightly smaller at 13mm diameter.It shows either a set of loaded scales or a cross with heads below, depending on which way up it is held. The obverse may show a robed figure, although again it is degraded. This possible religious imagery may suggest that it is a church token or souvenir, rather than trade one. Tokens were popular methods of payment in the 17th to 19th centuries AD.

A very worn copper alloy token. On one face is a ring of chain like decoration which forms a dividing line round the token. Outside this is lettering which runs around the entire circumference, this is largely indistinguishable. Inside the circle is written THEIR PENNY 1672, with decorative, simple flowers underneath. On the other side is the same chain-like division again with lettering around the circumference. In the centre is a wide plain circular image, with another circle in the centre, across this is a broad line. What this represents is not easy to see.

A copper alloy anti-slavery 'halfpenny'. These were modelled on the ceramic tokens produced by Josiah Wedgewood as part of the abolitionist movement in the late 18th century. One face depicts a pair of clasped hands and the other a kneeling man, with chained hands raised in a plea. Modern copper alloy colliery workers token from the Towneley Colliery. The token is circular in plan with a suspension perforation at the apex. On the outer face there is an inscription within a circumferal beaded border which reads TOWNELEY COLLIERIES. The front has been overstamped with three digit numbers at least three times, to the point ithat it is now difficult to work out what those numbers were. Dates to between c1933 and c1949 AD, when the Towneley Coal & Fireclay Company, and later the National Coal Board (from 1947), had taken over the running of the colliery from Brooks and Pickup.
