A fragment of a copper alloy mount. It has probably been a longer, rectangular piece and it has a raised border at top and bottom. There is an elaborate vegetative pattern apparant. The mount may have been gilded at some point. It is difficult to assign a date to the artefact as not many diagnostic features remain

A copper alloy cast chip carved mount, probably of early medieval origin. It is circular, with a circular border around the outside face. Within this is a design which comprises of representations of possibly four, intertwined animal hybrids. The bodies of the animals are formed of three contoured lines, interlaced in a square in the centre of the field. A complete copper alloy belt mount dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1300-1450).
The object is comprised of a mount and a loop. The mount is formed of a sub-rectangular plate that is rectangular in the centre and rounded at the the top. It is folded at the centre to create a loop and is secured by two rivets. The surface of the plate is decorated with an incised border around the edges. Between the folds of the plate is the remains of organic material, probably leather. Separately secured within the loop is a D-shaped copper alloy pendant. Post Medieval copper alloy mount, probably from a piece of furniture or a coffin. It is incomplete and in two pieces. The rear is undecorated, slightly concave, and retaining a central fixing rivet on the larger of the two fragments. The outer face is decorated and depicts a child's face haloed by curls (on the larger fragment) surmounting ribboned swags. The left hand swag as viewed, is missing. The swags are decorated, possibly to depict stylised wings or foliage. Dates to between c1600 and c1900 AD.

Cast copper alloy and iron mount dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1700-1850).
A large concavo-convex cast rectangular plate or plaque with clipped corners. The face is flat and undecorated. The reverse is slightly concave with the remains of four iron lugs positioned at the centre of each side.
The object is covered in a green patina and is mostly complete. A small hole is present on the face of the mount.

Roman to Medieval copper alloy mount. It is square in plan and sub rectangular in section. It is decorated in relief with a flower that consists of four lentoid petals extending to each corner from a central boss. The central pellet retains the original black finish. On one edge there is a raised border but this is either absent or lost from the other three edges. The reverse face is still fully coated in black but is otherwise undecorated although there are remnants of a lip, up to 1.5mm high, on three edges. Dates to between c43 and c1500 AD, probably Early Medieval.

Copper-alloy bar mount of medieval date (c. 1150 - 1450 AD). The mount has a long rectangular body with circular terminals at either end and a large circular loop at the centre. The terminals are pierced with copper-alloy rivets. The bottom face of the mount is flat while the upper face is curved, resulting in a D-shaped section. The ends of the rivets are broken and worn. The object is brown in colour, with a patchy green patina. It is 23.35mm in length, 6.15mm in width and 1.90mm in thickness. It weighs 0.78g.

Copper-alloy bar mount of medieval date (c. 1150 - 1450 AD). The mount has a convex, circular body with a rectangular projection at either end complete with copper-alloy rivets for attachment. A further rivet pierces the convex body of the object, positioned centrally. The ends of the rivets are broken and worn. Four decorative parallel grooves run across the body on the front face. The object is dark brown in colour. It is 22.54mm in length, 10.81mm at maximum width and 4.55mm at maximum thickness. It weighs 1.99g.

The mount is in the form of a flower possibly a rose consisting of five petals with small sub oval tabs projecting from between each petal. The mount is openwork and sub-rectangular in shape with four differently shaped perforations in the lower half. There are two tabs probably for attachment on the upper end of the plate. An incomplete copper-alloy zoomorphic (bovine) mount of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1700 - 1900. The head is cast three dimensionally. It has a sub-triangular shape with U-shaped section due to the concave reverse. The front is elaborately decorated with wavering lines, likely representing long hair, a raised flattened snout, and scrolled ears of horns to either side of a break at the top.
The metal has a dark grey patina and is worn. The mount is 35.5mm long, 42mm wide, 3.6mm wide and weighs 12.6g.

A copper alloy openwork mount probably dating to the post medieval period, c. 1500 to 1700AD. The object is flat on the front and back with bevelled internal and external edges. There is one large openwork hole and five smaller with bevelled edges presumably for attachment. On the reverse is a long loop also apparently for attachment. The terminal is possibly zoomorphic with two openwork curves possibly broken rivets and the object appears to have been tinned or silvered. No clear parallels have been found for this object. The length is 71mm, the width is 28mm and the weight 30.26g.

An incomplete copper alloy mount, probably Iron Age in date 1st century BC - AD, as even though no satisfactory parallel for this object has been found, it appears broadly similar to double eye design belt or scabbard mounts. There are two rivet holes on the back that do not appear to continue through to the front suggesting that the object is comprised of at least two plates. An incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy mount with integral lugs dating to the 17th century (AD 1600-1700). The mount is convex at the front and concave at the rear. The front is plain. On the reverse are two integral-cast spiked lugs. The length is 32mm, the width is 18mm and the weight 4.73g. A similar example has been illustrated in Read (2001), p.29 fig 22, no 331.

Circular copper alloy object, probably a post-medieval mount. The centre appears to be decorated with a foliate design within a raised border. The reverse has a short broken rivet projecting from the centre which would have originally have been used for attachment as a mount. The diameter is 54mm.
It bears some similarity to mounts thought to be from mazers, of 16th-century date (compare SUR-308C26).
