Copper alloy Buckle. Cast rectangular buckle frame with bevelled edges and curved. The sides are thickened to retain a steel spindle (now lost). Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1790. Length: 24.3mm, Height: 18.6mm, Thickness (clear of spindle housing): 2.4mm, Weight: 3.47gms.

Possibly a fragment of a copper alloy sheet medieval buckle plate. The incomplete sub- rectangular plate has two rivet holes and terminates at one end with a small integral hook. The length is 42.5mm, the surviving width is 15.0mm and the weight is 3.23g. This object was hitherto inadvertently described as a key (locking); a point kindly corrected by Tom Redmayne.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Romano-British one-piece Colchester type brooch. Behind the flat rectangular wings is a copper alloy spring with four surviving coils. The other half of the coils and the pin are missing. On top of the head is a forward facing hook to secure the spring. The plain bow is hexagonal in section and tapers to a plain pointed foot. The long catchplate is incomplete at the bottom and has two surviving rectangular perforations. The surviving length of the catchplate is 17.8mm and the width is 13.6mm. A complete but flattened cast copper-alloy Medieval Thimble. The plain thickened rim has two notches and the sides have rows of large drilled circular indentations in concentric circles. The top is completely covered with concentric circular rows of circular indentations. The surviving length is 22.7mm, the surviving width is 32.6mm and the weight is 5.12g.
