An almost complete copper alloy Roman brooch dating from AD 75 - 200, a Thealby Mine type, now classified as a headstud varient of Colchester derivative hinged type. It fits well into Mackreth's CD H 17.1b group, especially number 7456 on plate 66. The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings which act as a hinge mechanism. A copper alloy axis bar is retained through the lugs and a pin loop remains fitted around the axis bar by a closed loop. The copper alloy pin proper is lost to an old worn, break. A copper alloy coin; probably a contemporary copy of a Roman nummus dating from AD 300 - 400. Originally thought to be a styca, closer inspection suggests that the visible part of the design is a crude forward facing figure, with a cross on the right, rather than the central cross and surrounding letters that would be expected on a styca. A lozenge shaped, copper alloy, Roman plate brooch datingf rom AD 25 - 250. It is probably a Continental Plate brooch type. The upper surface of the lozenge shaped plate is decorated with 25 lozenge shaped cells arranged in rows. Alternate rows are filled with a blue enamel, while the remaining cells are now empty. An incomplete Roman copper alloy coin; a sestertius of Faustina I (AD 138-161), posthumous issue dating from AD 141-161 under Antoninus Pius (Reece period 7). Rome mint.The reverse shows a draped female figure standing facing left, holding a long torch, nearly vertical in right hand, and probably a palladium in the left hand. Both attributes appear to be full length. The figure is possibly Vesta. The edges of the coin are damaged. Dimensions: 27.7mm diameter, 4.1mm thick and 11.1g. A lead alloy discoidal spindle whorl of probable Roman date, about AD 43 - 410. It fits into Walton Rogers Class B1. It is a flat disc of rectangular cross section (Glenda Type A cited in Alberti 2017). The central aperture is 5.7mm diameter. The edge of the whorl has been distorted in one place. The whorl is 28.9mm diameter, 6.5mm thick and 35.86g. It has a yellow grey patina.
