A blade is an elongated flake that was detached from a core-the rule of thumb being more than twice as long as it is wide. Blades were often modified and mounted in handles or hafts. This blade, dating to the Mesolithic period, is grey in colour, with almost half the cortex remaining on the dorsal face.It is blunt at one end and rounded at the other.
