Minted at Southwark in London, see North, 1991, II, p. 114, no. 1845. Obverse: Crowned bearded bust facing. Obverse legend: HE[nR]IC : 8 : D : G : AGL : FRA : Z : HIB : REX. Reverse: Squared shield bearing the royal coat of arms, quartered by a long cross fourchee. Reverse legend: CIVI / TAS / LON / DON. It measures 25.48mm in diameter, 0.63mm in thickness, and weighs 1.64g. Die axis: 8 o'clock.

A Henry VIII groat of the second coinage and dates to either 1529-32 or 1538-41. The initial mark is a lis and this coin is a true coin and not a mule as there is also a lis on the rev. The bust is type Laker D. The lettering is in the lombardic style with the ob legend reading HENRIC VIII D G R ANG Z FRANCE. The rev reads as POSVI DEV ADIVTORE MEV. Mint is London. North 1797. Thee is a nick to one edge of the coin. Diameter 25mm.
