They have differing degrees of patination & the distal section has evidence of extensive retouching after the break. 1 - distal end; length 15mm, width 14mm, depth 2.5mm, weight 0.7g. 2 - middle section; length 16mm, width 7mm, depth 2.5mm, weight 0.4g. Honey brown flint pebble with multiple removals. It has either been used as a source for microliths or it is a tool or core that was abandoned due to excessive fracturing. Mid Mesolithic to early Bronze Age in date (c6500 to c1500 BC). The length is 27mm, width 16mm, thickness 11mm, and the weight is 7.6g. A number of chert lithic items, & a few flint ones, have also been found in the vicinity. John Hallam directed a dig in the area some time ago.
