A  copper alloy collared pin head. The head is basically of the globular headed type as defined by Haldenby, although it has longitudinal facets on the lower half of the sphere. The top is also has a flat face and there may have been some faceting on the top half of the head but this is not certain. Haldenby states that the examples he examined came from the east of England (Yorkshire) and are later in the series which is dated to the 9th century AD Dimensions: It is 14mm long, the head is 10mm in diameter and weighs 3.48g

A copper alloy object that could be an incomplete polyhedral multi-faceted pin Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) hair pin dating to the late 8th to the early 10th century AD or could relate to a later more modern object. It has a cuboid-faceted head very corroded and no decoration is discernible. Where the head joins the shaft there appears to be a collar consisting of a circumferential raised line. The shaft is not circular in cross-section and appears to have a square section which could indicate that it is later. The length is 18mm, the width is 9mm and the weight 2.18g.

Head of a copper alloy 8th century Anglo-Saxon pin, probably part of a triple, or double, pin set. The head and part of the shank survive in very good condition with hardly any corrosion or bronze disease present on the surface, except in the centre of the obverse where corrosion started in the crevices of the decoration. It was made from cast copper alloy, probably with part-incised decoration on the obverse. The silvery shine on the reverse strongly suggests that the pin had been silvered or tinned. Complete cast copper alloy early medieval 'Wrythen pin' dating from the Middle Saxon period, that is c. 9th century. The pin is complete, but slightly bent out of shape and shows corrosive patches along the shaft. It has an oval/onion-shaped head (diameter 8mm) with engraved spiral decoration, often called 'wrythen-headed' (Hinton 1996, 16-17). There is a double-collar beneath its head. The shaft has a circular cross-section broken circular-section. Parallels on the database are NMS-11C7B1 and two finds in 2004 from Barton Bendish, Norfolk (HER 17212), and Beachamwell, Norfolk (HER 4530).

Cast copper alloy pin fragment dating from the early medieval period, that is c. AD700-900. The pinhead is of polyhedral shape, with ring and dot decoration in each of the four side panels, but plain at the very top. From the base of the head a circular sectioned shaft extends, tapering in diameter to a point. The shaft is undecorated. A similar example was recorded as YORYM-6BB423.
