A cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Post-Medieval period, c.1660-1720. The object is a trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The outer frame is decorated with five moulded ridges at each end in a scallop-shell design. The sides of the frame are decorated with a rounded knop either end of the spindle with a double ridge to either side. The incomplete pin and chape remain attached. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition.
