A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (AD43-1800). The object is circular in plan and biconical with a large circular perforation with an internal diameter of 9.03mm. One face is decorated with a series of moulded lines which intersect interspersed with raised circular pellets. The opposite has a similar pattern which is worn. The decoration is worn and irregular. The object has a light white patina. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although…

Curving bow, D-shaped in section with flat front decorated with three strips infilled with enamel. Each strip appears to have originally been of three sections of alternating coloured enamel, of which only the some of orange enamel remains. Circular boss at the junction of the bow and the leg. The ridged plain leg tapers to a foot knob. The head of the bow comprises an oval plate on the back of which is an integral horizontal cylinder which encloses the intact axis bar, a trace of the pin remains.
