A late Medieval to Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy incomplete cooking pot leg depicting an animal's foot.
The foot is sub-pentagonal with a slightly angled flat base, resembling a lion's paw. A short piece of D-shaped cross-section leg rises from the foot and terminates in an old break. The surface is quite rough and displays a pale green patina.
Height 31.8mm, width 39.3mm, weight 121.1g.

The foot is sub-pentagonal with a slightly angled flat base, with moulded ridged toes resembling a lion's paw. Above is a short section of shallow triangular cross-section leg terminating in an old break. The reverse is plain and flat. The surface displays a pale green patina.

A Late to Post-Medieval incomplete cast copper-alloy 'heavy duty' pot-leg, probably dating to c.1400-1700.
Rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. Flat angled base with three slightly moulded vertical ridges up to a horizontal transverse collar at mid-point, then plain up to a break at the apex. The reverse is plain and flat.
Height 64.6mm, width 30.5mm, depth 20.4mm, weight 231g.

A fragment of a Roman grey ware pottery vessel, c.AD 43 - 410.
Description: A sherd of dark grey pottery, incorporating the body and rim. There is a stepped edge to the underside of the rim. The sherd has a smooth, unburnished external surface and appears to possibly be decorated with cross hatching on the outer surface. The fabric is hard and has fine inclusions.

Incomplete cast copper-alloy vessel leg, probably from a cauldron, skillet or posnet of Late Medeival to Post-Medieval date. (Butler, Green & Payne Type C) dating c. 1450-1700.
The pot leg is broadly rectangular in plan and triangular in cross section with a moulded transverse collar close to the upper terminal. The upper edge is broken where it has been severed from the rest of the leg. Below the collar the foo is formed of three convex joined ribs that widens out at the base to form a paw-like foot. The rear surface is flat.

A complete, Roman, wheel turned ceramic bowl, a waster re-used as a crucible dating c. AD 43-250.
The vessel is complete but has warped in the firing, and was probably a waster. It is in the form of a small cup with a beaded rim (7.13mm high and 6.94mm wide). The walls are vertical and then angle inwards towards the footring at the base. The foot ring is 46.3mm in diameter, the outer rim measuring 7.61mm wide and 6.8mm high. The spout is curved with the attachment end open and shaped to fit the wall of the vessel. Description: The sherd comprises a fragment from the rim of the thin-walled vessel. The sherd is undecorated apart from the carefully beaded rim. The fabric is fine and pale orange in colour with a glossy orange-red slip on both the inside and outside of the vessel, although it is worn chipped. The vessel was wheel thrown as attested by its even surface.

Description: The sherd comprises a fragment from the side or body of the thick-walled vessel. The sherd is decorated on the outer face with a moulded repeated leaf or floral design. The fabric is fine and pale orange in colour with a glossy orange-red slip on the outside (on both the inside and outside of the vessel), although it is worn and chipped. A fragment of curved pottery strap handle and rim from a jug or other vessel of post-medieval date (c.1600-1900).
Description: Fabric has a reddish oxidised surface over a reduced light grey core. The fabric feels quite sandy and has flecks of black mica. The handle has a bow-shaped cross section of 56mm wide by 13mm thick. The handle has longitudinal ridges either side and an applied band of thumb-impressed decoration running down the centre. A base sherd fragment from a Roman Central Gaulish samian ware dish, Dragendorff Form 16 dating to AD 50-69. Probably from La Graufesenque. See Brulet, Vivorder, Delage and Laduron (2010:64-66).
