An incomplete lead Russian bag seal, dating to c. AD 1890s. The seal is oval in shape, and missing part of one edge with a worn break. On one side the inscription reads NE/ PF12/ 189[...] . The opposite side reads AA/EMAP/THHO/61. Running through the seal from one edge to another is a void for attachment. The seal is a brown white colour, and measures 22.7mm in length, 20.3mm in width and weighs 10.70g.

A complete Modern hollow cast copper-alloy silvered button dating AD 1875. The button is circular, domed and hollowed on the underside. On the front of the button there is a design in moulded relief consisting of six arrows (3x3) in a leather strap surmounted by a morion cap. The reverse of the button has a central attachment loop. Around this is the inscription 'FIRMIN & SONS . 153 . STRAND . LONDON'. The button measures 25.76mm diameter, 4.32mm thick and weighs 6.90 grams.

Description: Silver 'snake' ring consisting of a triple spiral of metal of lenticular section which terminates at one end in a flattened, sub-triangular snake head and at the other with a twisted and narrowing tail. The head is detailed with grooves and the body by a pair of crudely traced lines that follow the edge of the metal; the area between the lines is infilled with short parallel lines, rather roughly executed, to give the impression of scales. A gold pennanular brooch. The panannular frame is 26mm in diameter and 3mm wide. It is decorated with floriate design which appears to have been etched into a wider sheet and then shaped into its current form. The terminals are domed and adorned with filigree (alternate triangles and circles) and topped with a square cut green glass stone which sits atop the dome. the base and green glass have filigree borders. A modern gilded chatelaine fitting or hook. The gilded copper alloy fitting has a long spatulate extension which would have been hooked over a belt and which has two rivet holes for attachment. The extension curves forward and expands into a decorative plate infilled with a rose, leaves and scrolls. On the external corners of this plate are two projecting loops from each of which hangs a gold ring and from each the terminal of a gold attachment, apparently comprising twisted gold wire. This is likely to be of later 19th century or early 20th century date.

A modern copper-alloy finger ring, probably dating from the 19th century. The hoop is of 'D-shaped' section, gradually widening towards the shoulders and bezel. An incised curve marks the start of each shoulder, the surfaces of which have been decorated by means of multiple irregular indentations. A complete cast copper alloy barrel tap of late post-medieval to modern date. The barrel tap has a circular sectioned spigot which tapers towards the end for fitting into the barrel on which are fine longitudinal striations. From the striations the tap expands into two opposing threaded trunnions preceding the spout. The spout is also circular in section and curves downwards to allow the flow of liquid. A rectangular sectioned projection extends from the outer curve of the spout. The rectangular tap handle has the following stamped details "PARRY & JACKSON LONDON & PARIS" on one side …

A pierced silver-alloy coin struck under the Turkish Ottoman ruler Mahmud II (1808-1839). Dimensions: 16mm diameter, 0.2mm thick. Weight: 0.45g. Paul Cannon (pers. comm.) comments: 'I can add some further information about this coin. As stated the year on the coin is AH 1223 (equivalent to AD 1808) but this is the accession year of Mahmud II. The regnal year is also recorded on the coin as '28'. It was therefore struck in AH 1251 ( AD 1836). The mint is recorded as Constantinople (Istanbul). From the size and weight it is a 10 para coin. An oval religious medal struck in bronze with a suspension loop. The obverse shows a cloaked bust (facing right) of Pope Pius IX and the legend "PIUS IX PONTE MAX ELECTUS 16 JUN 1846" . The reverse shows five crucifixions and on the ground in front of this scene a further crucifixion and three figures, and the words "PETRUS BAPTISTA ET[ ]". There is some damage and corrosion to the medal. It measures 27mm x 36mm.

Modern (probably Victorian) silver tube from a pen or pencil casing. The tube is now bent and distorted. There is a plain band at the upper terminal. The surface of the tube is covered in grooves long its length. There is a rectangular slot down the side, located about 10mm from the upper terminal, and this slot would have contained the slide mechanism to move the pencil lead. It is 80mm long, 7.26mm in diameter. Weight 10.4 grams (filled with soil).

A small silver one-piece thimble of modern date. It has a thickened rim below an undecorated area; above this are even horizontal rows of hexagonal indentations set in honeycomb form. It is hallmarked on the undecorated area, with three marks: a lion passant; the Chester assay mark (a shield bearing three wheat sheaves and a sword); and a date letter, a capital L, which dates it to 1894.On the rim is a small stamped number 5. It measures 18mm in height, and is 9mm diameter at the top and 14mm diameter at the bottom.

A lead bag seal, probably of Russian origin and dating from the 19th century. The seal comprises two truncated circular discs which are joined around their edges. The wide aperture extends diagonally though the centre. One disc bears the relief-moulded legend: '(SP)[ ]//RS(L/I)//[ ](TR)O. The other side reads: 'I:Off'. Parts of a beaded border survive on both sides. The artefact measures 26.2mm in diameter, 5.4mm thick and weighs 18.4g.
