The buckle frame is a single loop sub-rectangular shape in plan, with expanded and splayed feet and a narrowed, recessed strap bar. The strap bar is trapezoidal in cross-section. The internal edge of the loop is rounded and has three small notches on the edge. The reverse of the buckle frame is flat. The pin is missing. The surface has been over cleaned. Traces of tinning. The pin is missing.

The mount is square in plan, however a corner of the mount is missing. Covering the majority of the upper surface is a circular dome decorated with four radiate ridges forming a 'X' shape. At the apex of the dome is a dome-heads rivet which has been flattened on the reverse. The mount has a border which has been engraved and consists of an irregular way line with an inner irregular 'line'. The upper surface has gilding evident. The fragment of glass is a complete rim of a narrow necked and rim vessel. The rim has a horizontal face which, from the lower face, a narrowed neck protrudes. The rim is sub-circular in plan. The neck is vertical and appears to curved outwards, but the edge is broken. The neck is incomplete and recently broken. The glass is a blue/green opaque colour. Elongated air bubbles are visible within the glass.

The spindle whorl is slightly biconical in cross section, but appears at first glance to be conical, except the base is tapered slightly in profile. The surface of the base is slightly concave. In the centre is a vertical circular hole which is 8.49mm diametre. The whorl is circular in plan with a smooth surface, except for two cracks/indentations. The whorl is made of a fine grained, laminated silty mudstone.

The item is a three lobed object with a flat, broken horizontal lower edge. The lobes are defined by grooves on the reverse and obverse faces. The central lobe is taller than the lobes either side. At the apex of the side lobes there is a vertical circular hole. One lobe is incomplete and this hole is revealed to travel halfway inside the lobe. The surface of the object is slightly rough, but has developed a patina.

The brooch is fragmentary and quite an unusual brooch. The bow head is a flat triangular shape. However the edges are heavily abraded so this may not be the original size and shape. The outer surface of the bow head has three cells. In plan the chape is shaped like the lower portion of a droplet. The lower edge however is broken and abraded, and the upper edge, which is a broken, horizontal edge is also abraded. One face is flat with possible incised decoration. The decoration is possible a row of X's. Below is a horizontal low-relief line. There are patches of patina around the decoration which has been lost elsewhere on the object. The reverse is undecorated, but has a lip around the side edges, which stops at the broken edges.

The buckle plate is a sub-rectangular shape which narrows very slightly towards one end. This end has a trapezoidal notch cut into the centre of it and the edges either side are heavily abraded. This is the edge which originally would be hinged over the bar. One face of the plate has been decorated with incised curvilinear lines and small lozenge-shaped stamps in the centre. Opposite the hinged edge there is a rivet hole near each corner. The reverse of the plate is undecorated. The plate has a well developed dark green patina.

The buckle frame is a double loop rectangular shape in plan, with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The front loop has a notch. The strap bar is hidden by a cylinder which has a triangular shaped protrusion. The side of the frame are expanded and the spindle is visible. On one side the terminal of the spindle appears to be broken, suggesting it originally continued into an arm. The surface is a grey/green colour.

The buckle has a double loop asymmetrical frame. The strap bar is narrowed and terminates with moulded rosettes. The loop has a mould rosette and scroll work. Otherwise the upper face of the frame is decorated with obliquely angled ridges. The frame has been over cleaned, therefore no details of patina or gilding. No pin remains.

The brooch was probably originally circular in plan. However, the edges of it are now heavily abraded and the brooch is a sub-oval shape in plan. The upper surface of the brooch has a circular central cell within a high relief annulet. The field outside of the annulet is a circular ring shaped cell which is incompletely filled with red enamel. The reverse of the brooch is undecorated and has the remains of parrellel lugs on one edge, and a single lug opposite, which was probably originally the catchplate. The patina is a light green colour.

Roman dolphin type brooch, copper alloy, probably 1st century. Concave back to head and wings, possibly indicative of springe type hinge. Very plain long bow. Incomplete with all of spring, pin, catchplate and foot missing. Short wings, one has notch in top. Fair condition although incomplete.
