A wheel-thrown base (and side) sherd of probable Mancetter-Hartshill mortaria (54mm x 56mm with a thickness of 11.5mm at the edge of the base; weight: 45.79g). The sherd has a fine-textured and powdery fabric with an off-white core and inclusions of fine quartz and occasional red-brown and white particles grit. The grit seems to be fairly worn which may indicate that the vessel was used to a fair extent. An incomplete glass counter or gaming piece of probable Roman to Early Medieval date (c. AD 200-800) The counter is an oval shape in plan, and domed in profile. The body of the counter is made from a dark blue to black glass, which has an applied border of white glass. Within the border, at intervals, there are small blobs of applied white glass as decoration. The base of the counter has an irregular spiral, as if formed during manufacture of the counter. An incomplete enamelled copper alloy headstud brooch variant, of Roman dating (AD 75 to AD 200). Around 75% of the brooch remains, the spring, pin and part of the catch plate are missing, along with some of the decorative elements, presumed lost in antiquity. A knapped flint barbed and tanged arrowhead dating from the late Neolithic to the Middle Bronze Age. Mass: 1.2g. Length: 22mm; extant width: 18mm. Thickness: 4mm. The off-white/grey flint arrowhead is sub-triangular in plan, with two notches in the basal area either side of a central tang, forming a barb to one side, but the second barb is missing. The arrowhead has invasive retouch on the dorsal face. The flatter ventral face only has retouch on the tip and the barb and notches in the basal area. Knapped flint barbed and tange arrowhead. Probably Late Neolithic to the Middle Bronze Age. Mass: 1.5g. Length: 26mm; extant width: 17mm. Thickness: 4mm. Grey patinated flint. Made on a re-used flake, as the surface is not patinated around the edges where it has been retouched. The tanged arrowhead appears to have lost some material from its tip, and also at the ends of the wings - and so the original form is unclear.

A complete sub-cylindrical decorated polychrome glass bead, with flattened ends (diameter: 9.1mm; thickness: 7.7mm; weight: 0.87g), dating to the Early Medieval period, probably 6th-8th century AD. The dark blue/black bead seems to have been splashed with a range of colours after the initial monochrome bead was made, including yellow, red, grey/blue and off-white. These colours have been applied irregularly and in no distinctive pattern. The spindle whorl is slightly biconical in cross section, but appears at first glance to be conical, except the base is tapered slightly in profile. The surface of the base is slightly concave. In the centre is a vertical circular hole which is 8.49mm diametre. The whorl is circular in plan with a smooth surface, except for two cracks/indentations. The whorl is made of a fine grained, laminated silty mudstone.
