An incomplete glass counter or gaming piece of probable Roman to Early Medieval date (c. AD 200-800) The counter is an oval shape in plan, and domed in profile. The body of the counter is made from a dark blue to black glass, which has an applied border of white glass. Within the border, at intervals, there are small blobs of applied white glass as decoration. The base of the counter has an irregular spiral, as if formed during manufacture of the counter.
