The counter is an oval shape in plan, and domed in profile. The body of the counter is made from a blue glass, which has an applied border of white glass. Within the border, at intervals, there are small blobs of applied white glass as decoration. The base of the counter has an irregular spiral, as if formed during manufacture of the counter. Dr. Henderson (Nottingham University) offered the identification, but did comment that he had not seen a counter quite like this before. Refer to the archive file for his e-mail.
