A cast lead pilgrim badge of medieval date. The badge measures 49.11mm in length, 25.15mm in width, its maximum thickness is 4.45mm and it weighs 6.12g. The front of the badge is moulded to represent the bust of St Thomas Becket, indicating that this was a product of his shrine at Canterbury, Kent. The archbishop wears a mitre which has a raised central vertical panel on which there is an off-centre line of raised dots. The rest of the mitre is filled with cross hatching. A vesica-shaped (pointed oval) lead seal matrix, back unseen. Device: A large fish, probably a pike, head pointing upwards its back to the right, belly to the left. Device is separated from the legend by a neat beaded line; a similar line marks the outer edge of the matrix. 13 bridle bosses or other horse harness decorations All of the same design -one is incomplete. Shield-shaped (square) mount with central shield-shaped boss. Cast decoration in a floral design (a pattern of a sexfoils alternating with foliate curlicues and a single bell-shaped flower at the centre top) in a band around the edge. The boss is a squared shield with a pointed base and a slight v-shaped recess in the top edge. The boss is solid and undecorated. The back surface is irregular and has the remnants if four evenly spaced fixings (two on each side).

Circular mount with cone-shaped central boss. Cast decoration in a floral design (a pattern of a sexfoil and three quatrefoils repeated with swags below the quatrefoils) in a band around the edge. The boss is decorated with an octagonal moulding with a pellet at each apex. The boss is solid. The back surface is irregular and has the remnants if two fixings.
