The object is a vessel lid. It is sub circular in plan, with a sub-semi circular platform protruding from one edge. There are at least 5 very small angular protrusions which are probably decorative. The upper surface is slightly convex, the under surface is concave. Only the upper surface is decorated. The decoration is in the form of ‘ring and dots’ forming a border around the edge, and an inner circle which has trefoils of ‘ring and dot’ designs in the centre. Medieval (late 13th to early 15th century) bell: An incomplete, copper-alloy sheet spherical bell. It is missing its lower half and pea due to probable recent damage. The damage being the bell has been squashed. There is a flanged seam line where the two halves would have originally been joined together. At the top is a separately rectangular sheet which has been folded and soldered onto the bell to form a loop. The surface of the bell has a mottled dark green shiny patina. Medieval (late 13th to 14th century) buckle: The copper alloy buckle frame was a double looped oval frame, but only one loop and the strap bar remains. The loop is undecorated and is an asymmetrical semi-circle in section. The reverse is undecorated and flat. The strap bar is not narrowed as they usually are, and is a rounded trapezoid in section. There is a trace of an iron pin on the strap bar. The buckle frame has a slightly abraded surface with a dark grey patina. The buckle measures 20.72mm long and 29.72mm wide. It weighs 3.94g. Roman brooch, possibly a large south-western T-shaped type: The copper alloy brooch is fragmentary; it has traces of a large head plate with cylindrical wings. The wings have a vertical slot on the reverse to allow for the pin, which is fragmentary. The wings contain a copper alloy axis bar. The bow protrudes from the lower edge of the plate, on the outer face which is a slender trapezoid and is slightly crescentic in profile. The bow tapers to a broken edge. Medieval (mid 14th to early 15th century) buckle: The copper alloy buckle has an incomplete D-shaped frame with an integral spacer and separate plates. The upper surface of the frame is obliquely angled, whereas the reverse is flat. Integral to the strap bar is a forked spacer.
