Mint of Bristol. Spink (2002, 147). This coin has suffered significant losses to its circumference; it measures 26.2mm in diameter, 0.6mm in thickness, and weighs 1.795g

A complete medieval gold half-sovereign of Henry VIII (1509-47), Third coinage (c.1544-1547; Norrth 1827; Spink 2295), Tower mint, initial mark: pellet-in-annulet. Ref: North 1991: 113. Obverse; King enthroned, holding orb and sceptre, rose at feet. Reverse; crowned royal arms supported by rampant lion and griffin, HR at base. The coin is well preserved, though bent at a c. 45 degree angle along its central axis due to post-depositional damage.
