A complete copper-alloy sestertius of Marcus Aurelius as Augustus (AD 161-80), dating to AD 165-66 (Reece Period 8). Reverse: TR POT XX IMP IIII COS III S-C, Victory standing facing, head turned right, holding long palm in right hand and placing shield inscribed VIC PAR atop tree in left hand. Mint of Rome. RIC vol. III, pp. 286-7, cf. nos. 922, 929 & 931. The coin is preserved in good condition, with an even green patina covering most of its surfaces.
