Clay pipe bowl. A "Dorset-Somerset" type bowl with a curved, outward leaning, narrow-waisted, slightly bulbous bowl. There is no remnant of the stem. The small, flat heel has a maker's stamp of the initials NC with a trefoil above and a quatrefoil below, all inside a pellet border. An incomplete clay tobacco pipe. The bowl only of a "Jonas" or "Walter Raleigh" type from the Netherlands. The bowl is decorated with a rearward facing human face with one annulet eye and one oval, eyebrows, large ears, a wide, drooping nose and upturned moustache. An incomplete Post-Medieval clay pipe, dating to AD 1670 - 1710. Most of the bowl and stem are missing. The stem is oval shaped and has a circular hole in its centre. The stem flares out into the bowl, most of which is missing. The heel of the pipe is stamped with a heart, inside are the raised initals of IM, which possibly can be attributed to John Mandifield, a maker in Sherbourne. The bowl of a post medieval clay smoking pipe dating to c AD1660 - 1680.The bowl has broken off at an early date at the junction with the stem but was at an angle of c45 degrees to the stem. The bowl is cream/white in colour and there is no decoration.  It tapers a little towards the mouth where the rim is missing to an early break.  At the foot is the spur, damaged when the stem broke away, but enough remaining to measure the diameter.
