Copper alloy three chambered chrismatory. Each chamber is an elongate cylinder, open at the top, with a slightly bulbous, rounded base. Each has a suspension loop at the rim, the two side chambers have it on the outward facing side and the central one projects out from the centre of the front of the rim. The right chamber is damaged at the back with a worn hole at the base. Date: Medieval - c.1100 - 1300 Such vessels were used to carry three types of holy oil used in the Medieval church for for ministering to the sick, for baptism, and for confirmation and ordination.
