A rounded scraper formed on a tertiary flake of Portland Chert. The chert has a light grey patination with very slight edge damage revealing a mid-grey interior. The dorsal surface has several broad flake scars from previous removals, with short, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch around approx 50% of the flake edge. The ventral face has slight, poorly defined ripples but is dominated by a large shallow bulbar scar.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A rounded scraper made on a thick, secondary flake of Portland chert. The chert is mid-grey with a mid-gloss patina. The dorsal face carries two areas of limestone cortex and two earlier flake scars. There is steep, scaled semi-invasive retouch around 50-60% of the distal end and sides creating a rounded scraping edge. Several post-depositional flake scars disfigure the scraping edge. The ventral face has an ill-defined bulb of percussion, partly removed by a striking fracture.

A large flint end-scraper. Made on a secondary flake of dark grey and red-brown mottled flint. There is an area of abraded nodule cortex on the dorsal face. The dorsal face has a milky blue0white patina. At the proximel end there is a small striking platform with a low, diffuse bulb of percussion on the ventral face There are large waves of percussion running to the distal end. On the dorsal face are several irregular flake removals. The distal end has been worked from the ventral face with small, parallel, semi-invasive retouch.

A rounded scraper made on a thick tertiary flake. The flint is mid-light mottled grey and has a low-gloss patina. On the dorsal face, scaled, invasive, semi-abrupt retouch around part of one margin is well-controlled, creating a fine, curved scraping edge. The remainder of the scraping edge is cruder and steeper, resulting in an irregular or denticulate edge with some incipient 'underhang', it is likely that this is the result of secondary working or re-edging prior to discard. The ventral surface has a moderately pronounced bulb of percussion below a remnant of …

A rounded flint scraper made on a sub-circular tertiary flake. The flint is mottled mid to light grey with a mid-gloss patina. The dorsal surface has several broad, flat flake scars and areas of steep, abrupt retouch around the distal half, creating a slightly irregular semi-circular scraping edge. The ventral face has a moderately well-developed bulb of percussion below an area of flat striking platform, developing into broad, low concentric ripples. There is some post depositional edge damage to the dorsal distal end.

A Neolithic discoidal scraper struck from a tertiary flake of grey flint, 47.3mm in length. The distal edge terminates in a hinge fracture and the sides and proximal end have been worked into scraping edges with short, semi-abrupt sub-parallel retouch. There is a notch at the proximal end next to the striking platform, which most likely derives from post depositional damage.

A small scraper of Bronze Age date struck from a tertiary waste flake of banded grey flint. The distal end has long semi-abrupt sub parallel retouch and the proximal edge has short abrupt retouch to defining working edges; this has been done through earlier surface recortication suggesting that this object is a re-used waste flake of a much earlier date, possibly originally Mesolithic or Neolithic.

A large secondary flint flake with a small area of retouch in the middle of one edge. Mid grey to pale grey and white mottled flint with a low gloss patina. There is a very small area of nodule cortex on the dorsal face at the distal end. The Proximal end has been snapped off. The flaking scars on the dorsal face indicate the flake results from blade production and the it also has the trapeziodal cross section associated with this. There is a small area of pressure flake retouch on the right edge on the ventral face.
