A Roman copper-alloy nummus of the House of Constantine, probably a contemporary copy, dating to the period AD 337-350 (Reece period 17). Constantinopolis reverse type depicting Victory left on a prow holding shield and sceptre. Muled with an obverse type of Constans as Augustus (AD 337-350). This is probably an irregular copy of a coin from the mint of Trier rather than a muled official issue.
For the official issue of this reverse type and mintmark (dating to AD 332-333) see RIC VII, p. 217 cf.543. For the obverse prototype RIC VIII, pp.144-145, cf. no. 86 passim.
