A worn and corroded base silver Roman radiate, possibly an irregular copy or mule combining an obverse of Trebonianus Gallus (AD 251-253) and a reverse of Gordian III (AD 238-244), dating to the period c.AD 251-253 (Reece period 12). Reverse type depicting the Emperor standing right holding transverse spear and globe. Prototype of the mint of Rome.  The obverse type appears to be of Trebonianus Gallus or perhaps Volusian (AD 251-253), however the reverse is a type seen on coins of Gordian III, cf. RIC IV.1 nos. 91-94. It seems likely that this is an irregular …
