An incomplete cast copper-alloy cooking vessel leg/foot from the medieval to post-Medieval period, circa 1200-1650. The leg fragment consists of a splayed sub-triangular base with a vertical central ridge and tapered leg, which is oval in section at the break. The back is convex and the break is not recent. The object has a semi matt green patina with areas of sooting with some soil impaction. Height: 33.07 mm. Width: 40.47 mm. Thickness: 24.42 mm. Weight: 101 grams. An incompete cast copper-alloy cooking vessel leg/foot of medieval to post-Medieval date, circa 1200-1650 . The leg fragment consists of a splayed and angled base with a prominent central ridge. In section, the base is sub-triangular,with a flat back and tapered sides. The top is very worn at the break and with the patina suggests this is not a recent break.There is evidence of sooting and the object has a green patina with some soil impaction. Height: 57.30 mm. The leg fragment consists of a thickened and splayed foot with a vertical central ridge. In section, the base is sub-oval, the top is roughly D-shaped, with the ridge to the back of the D. The break has a degraded green/brown patina which matches the other surfaces,suggesting this is not a recent break.There is evidence of sooting at the base of the leg. Height: 57.93 mm. An incomplete cast copper-alloy domestic cooking vessel leg of medieval to post-Medieval date, circa 1250-1750. In section, the leg is roughly eliptical,with a prominent vertical ridge to the front. This is a centre section of the leg with old breaks to each end which are smoothed and have a green patina. Externally from the breaks there is a coating of soot which is a common feature with open fire cooking. Height of leg: 38.83 mm Thickness: 19.96 mm. Weight: 140 grams.

The groove suggests a vessel thickness of 2.15mm at the point of repair. No ceramic material has survived to give a closer date. The object has a thick matt-white patina. Length of patch: 39.77 mm. A fragment of a copper-alloy rim from a domestic cooking vessel of circa1250-1750.The rim is thickened, with the top angled outwards creating a sharp rim. The curvature of the section suggests the bowl had a diameter of approximately 200-220 mm. All the breaks are well worn.and both surfaces have evidence of sooting and a green patina. Width of rim: 44.86 mm. Thickness at rim: 5.17 mm. Height: 27.27 mm. Weight: 25 grams.

The rim internally is thickened and externally straight walled. The vessel is thin walled and the breaks are sharp indicating recent damage. The leg is of D-shaped cross section, there is a transverse collar to the upper end, and a central faint vertical ridge running down the front, (possibly a mould line). Roman of Romano British split sherd from a vessel of red sandy fabric. Ceramic building material (CBM) from initial use as either a large vessel or a tile. The degree of gloss from wear on one finish indicates it may have been used in construction of a road or footpath. The fabric has grass voids in it, and the sparse inclusions include a speck of white material and a piece of pot (grog) of buff fabric 5mm long. Dating to between c43 and c410 AD. Length is 35mm, width 22mm, depth 9mm, and the weight 5.6g.

A hard fired base sherd, probably from the Medieval period. The object comprises a small section of the base with attached globular foot. The fabric is gritty with well sorted flint/quartz and appears to have light reduction within the fabric. Externally the colour is pink/grey, and internally it is pink. The breaks appear to have happened in antiquity. The object is 19.18 mm high; with a width of 33.48 mm; and a length of 45.27 mm. The fabric has a thickness 5.97 mm and it weighs 20 grams. It is probably a pipkin type domestic vessel.

A cast copper alloy leg from a metal cooking vessel such as a cauldron or skillet. It has a D-shaped cross section with the flat side at the back. The back has a slight longitudinal groove. The front of the leg is decorated with five parallel longitudinal ribs with the central one being slightl wider than the others. The foot is rounded and asymmetrical from wear. There is no ceramic material surviving within the recess, so a close date cannot be established. The ceramic thickness at point of repair is 3.90 mm.
