A very worn or miscast copper alloy leg from a cauldon, skillet or posnet of medieval or post medieval date. The surfaces of the object are very uneven although the front appears to have a moulded vertical central ridge. The leg would have been one of the three required to support the vessel, although if this example was indeed miscast it would never have been used. From the base the leg narrows gradually to the point of the break, although in the centre of the surviving fragment the leg thickens briefly. There are also three slight vertical ridges which are equally spaced over the curving front. This leg would have been one of three on the complete vessel.

The upper surface is slightly convex, the under surface is concave. Only the upper surface is decorated.
