Fragment from a copper alloy vessel. This is a large vessel leg probably from a cauldron. The leg is tri-lobate in section with traces of a central ridge running up the front of the leg. An incomplete medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic spout in the form of a dog's head dating to the period c. AD 1400 - 1500. The spout is from a ewer and exhibits a small section broken off at the base where is would have been attached to the body of the vessel and a small hole in the underside. The mouth of the spout protrudes from the open mouth of the dog's head. It has moulded eyes and stylised ears on either side of the head, the details of which are slightly worn. An incomplete cast copper-alloy vessel leg from the Medieval to post-Medieval periods, circa 1200-1700. The pot leg is sub-triangular in section, with a flat back and five worn, rounded, vertical ribs to the front. The fragment has two breaks, one of which appears to be more recent, with a lighter green patina and angular edges. The remaining surface has a dark green patina. The leg is probably from a skillet used for cooking and serving food. Height of leg: 18.49 mm. Width: 24.67 mm. Thickness:12.08 mm. Weight: 26 grams. An incomplete cast copper-alloy cooking vessel leg/foot of medieval topost-Medieval date, circa 1250-1750. In section, the foot is eliptical, with the base thickened and flared forward. The leg lacks the prominant vertical central ridge seen in most examples. The break appears to have happened in antiquity. The leg fragment consists of a splayed sub-triangular base with a vertical central ridge and tapered leg, which is oval in section at the break. The back is convex and the break is not recent. This is a centre section of the leg with old breaks to each end which are smoothed and have a green patina. The curvature of the section suggests the bowl had a diameter of approximately 200-220 mm. All the breaks are well worn.and both surfaces have evidence of sooting and a green patina. A cast copper alloy leg from a metal cooking vessel such as a cauldron or skillet. It has a D-shaped cross section with the flat side at the back. The back has a slight longitudinal groove. The front of the leg is decorated with five parallel longitudinal ribs with the central one being slightl wider than the others. The foot is rounded and asymmetrical from wear. A copper alloy pot leg dating to c.1400-1450. The object comprises a semi-cylindrical leg or foot with the curved vessel base at one end and a flat end on which the foot would have rested. Running down the outside of the leg are five moulded vertical ridges with deep grooves between them.
