Roman of Romano British split sherd from a vessel of red sandy fabric. Ceramic building material (CBM) from initial use as either a large vessel or a tile. The degree of gloss from wear on one finish indicates it may have been used in construction of a road or footpath. The fabric has grass voids in it, and the sparse inclusions include a speck of white material and a piece of pot (grog) of buff fabric 5mm long. Dating to between c43 and c410 AD.
Length is 35mm, width 22mm, depth 9mm, and the weight 5.6g.
