A worn and incomplete leg from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel of medieval or post-medieval date. The leg measures 45.9mm in length, 31.8mm in width and 14.2mm in thickness. It weighs 73g. The cross-section is a long oval with slightly pointed ends. The back appears to have three slight facets (although one side is damaged) and the front appears to have a low and wide vertical rib in its centre. The break is concave. The leg would have been one of three on the complete vessel.

A small rim sherd from a medieval jug. The pale grey reduced fabric has darker grey surfaces and dense coarse quartz sand temper. The rim has an external bead which is decorated with incised parallel vertical lines. The slightly concave interior surface may indicate that the vessel had a lid seat. The surfaces of the object are very uneven although the front appears to have a moulded vertical central ridge. The leg would have been one of the three required to support the vessel, although if this example was indeed miscast it would never have been used. A cast copper alloy leg from a medieval or post-medieval metal cooking vessel, probably a post-medieval skillet judging by its dimensions and hoof-like form. The leg measures 53.11mm in length, 31.06mm in width and 18.10mm in thickness. It weighs 111.47g. The cross-section is D-shaped. From the base the leg narrows gradually to the point of the break, although in the centre of the surviving fragment the leg thickens briefly. There are also three slight vertical ridges which are equally spaced over the curving front. This leg would have been one of three on the complete vessel.

Copper alloy cauldron leg. D sectioned leg which flares towards the base and has a thick, rounded collar near the top. The back is flat and undecorated and the fornt is decorated with five longitudinal cast ridges (the same alignment above and below the collar). The collar is undecorated. The underside of the foot is worn and blackened. Originally soldered to a cauldron or skillett. Date: Post-medieval 16th to 17th century

One small sherd of medieval pottery. Externally glazed earthernware. The fabric is greyish-white with abundant sand temper. The exterior surface has been decorated with an applied thin circular blob of clay which has then been stamped with a large ring and dot motif. The decoration is of a darker grey with some red oxidisation. Over the top of the decoration and the rest of the sherd there is a thin coating of light green glaze. An incomplete medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic spout in the form of a dog's head dating to the period c. AD 1400 - 1500. The spout is from a ewer and exhibits a small section broken off at the base where is would have been attached to the body of the vessel and a small hole in the underside. The mouth of the spout protrudes from the open mouth of the dog's head. It has moulded eyes and stylised ears on either side of the head, the details of which are slightly worn. There is evidence of reduction and possibly sooting to the exterior. The breaks appear to be old,except for the rim, which has retained a sharper edge.
