Fragment of a glass vessel. The piece is from the pointed base of a flask. Its original colour was a faint green, but the surface has now degraded to a yellowish iridescent flaky layer. A fragment of glass vessel base. Pale green semi-opaque glass.The base has a deep, domed indentation and only small areas of the heel of the base remain. Around the centre of the indentation is a sharp raised edge where the glass of the lower part is thicker. The vessel is thin-walled and has a high density of bubbles visible. An incomplete copper alloy vessel foot dating to the Roman period (AD 43-410). The object is pelta shaped in plan, D shape in section, with a crescent shaped outer edge with two semi-circular cut out sections (biconcave) that create projecting outer 'arms' on each side of the object and a middle projection. A Late Medieval to Post-Medieval copper alloy chafing dish handle, probably dating to c. AD 1400 - 1600. The handle is heart-shaped with truncated point, and a hexagonal cross section. The resulting top bar is slightly narrowed and recessed, and passes through the perforation of a sub-rectangular lug. A rim sherd of a Roman Terra Sigillata or Samian fineware vessel dating c. AD 40-200. The sherd is triangular and worn and abraded with a beaded rim. There is a deep glossy red slip remaining on the internal surface and a small area on the external wall, but no other decoration. The fabric is pale orange red with abundant sorted white limestone inclusions and occasional red iron ore inclusions. Measurements: length14.63mm, width 18.34mm, thickness 5.20mm, weight 0.98 g. The inclusion suggest it may be Central Gaulish ware from Les Martres-de-Veyre.
