A fragment of cast copper alloy jug handle. A curvilinear/leaf-shaped lower terminal escutcheon with relief decoration of two human feet. There are traces of solder at the back where the escutcheon would have attached to the body of the jug and the surface is keyed by diagonal scoring to improve adherance. Small fragment of the base of a Roman Samian Ware vessel, probably of East Gaulish manufacture, dating to the mid 1st to 2nd century AD. The fragment consists of a portion of the small base upon which the vessel would have stood, along with part of the base itself. Given the small size of the fragment it is difficult to determine what kind of vessel it came from. The fabric of the vessel is mid orange colour with reddish-orange slip. Fragment of the base of a Roman Samian Ware vessel, probably of East Gaulish manufacture. Around a quarter of the base of the vessel survives, this rises slightly towards the centre of the upper face. On what would have been the inside of the vessel are what appears to be the letter M or W - the makers mark. There may have been other letters, though these are now illegible. The small size of the fragment makes it had to determine the shape of the original vessel. Small decorated fragment of the body of a Roman Samian Ware vessel, probably of East Gaulish manufacture, dating to the mid first to second century AD. The decoration consists of a raised curve, with a smaller curve above it to the right, followed by a strip containing an ovolo design above this. The shallow curve of the fragment suggests it probably once belonged to a bowel or similar vessel, but the form of this is difficult to determine. Mid orange colour with reddish-orange slip. A rim sherd of probable South East Dorset BB1 coarse ware, dating from the Roman period. The sherd has an everted rim with a semi-flat top and a groove designed to accept a lid.The body has abundant quartz/sand temper which appears to be well sorted. The internal colour is a muddy brown/black, with the external retaining the black burnish. There is no evidence of decoration but some reduction is evident.
