A base sherd from a Roman Oxfordshire red slipped ware vessel dating to the period c. AD 240 - 410. The sherd consists of part of a circular foot ring with edges terminating in old breaks. The fabric is orange in colour. It exhibits mica inclusions. The surfaces are coated in a smooth orange-red slip which has been heavily abraded. A fragment of a Roman ceramic vessel base, dating to c AD260 - 400. It is a hard grey fabric, without inclusions. There is evidence of a dark grey or brown wash. The base is circular, with a short pedestal which flares out to a short section of circular body before early damage caused the rest of the vessel to break away. An incomplete copper alloy vessel foot dating to the Roman period (AD 43-410). The object is pelta shaped in plan, D shape in section, with a crescent shaped outer edge with two semi-circular cut out sections (biconcave) that create projecting outer 'arms' on each side of the object and a middle projection.
