A saltglaze vessel sherd from a Rhenish flagon of circa AD1530-AD1570. The sherd consists of a male portrait roundel. In Ivor Noel Humes book, If These Pots Could Talk, Page 119 there is a illustration of a Rhenish flagon depicting a benign graybeard mask ("male portrait roundels") and acanthus fronds with a inscription horizontally midway on the pot which reads: FVR EINEN GOTEN DRUVNCK. translates as ( hooray for a good drink) .Height of sherd: 24.03 mm. Width: 22.99 mm. Thickness: 4.15 mm. Weight: 2.840 grams.

A rim sherd of a earthenware vessel from the early-post-Medieval period. The fabric is orange externally;internally, heavy reduction is evident within the core. The rim is turned in and e there is a single band of thumbed decoration on the outside. The external lead glaze is a light brown with some yellowing. The vessel is probably a storage jar. The height of the vessel is 36.87 mm; with a width of 49.48 mm; and has a thickness of 9.72 mm. The object weighs 21 grams.

A sherd of internally glazed red eathernware. The fabric has a reduced grey core with thick oxidised orange margins. Abundant quartz sand temper. A fragment from a cauldron leg. A fragment from the mid section of a large vessel leg with a distinct longitudinal mid-rib at the front. The back is concave and the leg has V-shaped cross section.There are breaks at both ends.The leg flares slightly.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy pot leg, of Butler, Green and Payne's type C, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The leg is sub-rectangular in plan and plano-convex in cross-section, with a prominent transverse collar dividing the foot and leg, with the latter lost to an old break. The inside edge is flat and plain, whilst the foot has five prominent longitudinal ridges down its front.
Dimensions: length 46.7mm; width 26.1mm; thickness 18.0mm; weight 68.01g.
Butler, Green & Payne (2009) classify such legs as their type C, in use by the 16th century and ubiquitous by the 17th.

An incomplete cast copper alloy pot foot dating to c.1200-1700. The foot is trapezoidal in section, tapering into a slightly rounded rear and with three longitudinal raised ribs running down the front, flaring slightly towards the base. It has an old irregular break at the upper end. The leg widens and spreads outwards at the base forming a trapezoid foot.
Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c.1200-1700 for serving and cooking. Butler et al (2009:4) suggest there were four main types of leg used. This is an example of Type A which they suggest was widespread …

A rim sherd of Post-medieval red ware bowl, dating to the period c.AD 1500-1700. The fabric is hard, mid-orange in colour at the surface, and cream-brown at the core. It has abundant, moderately well sorted small black, grey and red inclusions. The breaks are worn.
The sherd measures 108.77mm in length, 43.22mm in width, 15.86mm in thickness and weighs 70.96g.

A fragment of a medieval to post-medieval copper-alloy foot of a vessel leg dating to c.AD 1250 - 1700. The fragment comprises the foot of a leg. The foot is broadly a narrow D-shape in cross-section, with a raised central longitudinal rib running down the front. The object widens towards the base of the foot, where it is a rounded D-shape in cross-section.
Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD 1200 to 1700 for serving and cooking. Legs and feet are the most commonly recorded finds and Butler et alii (2009, p. 4) suggest there were four main types of leg used.

A group of seven Post Medieval Verwood ware sherds, dating to the period cAD 1600-1900. The group comprises two rim sherds, one handle sherd, one base sherd and three body sherds.
The fabric of the two rim sherds is hard, and light orange-pink in colour. A green-yellow glaze is on one of the rim surfaces, possibly a plate, while the other, sturdier vessel, has a pale orange glaze . The breaks are worn.

A fragment of glass, part (about half) of the circular base of a vessel, probably a wine or brandy bottle, of Post Medieval date, perhaps c AD 1600 -1800. The glass was perhaps originally dark green or blue, now translucent, and all surfaces, including the broken edges are now coated with pearlescence. The outer surface, however is more cloudy. The lower/underside of the fragment is a domed punt ('push-up' or 'kick-up') from the base. A jagged low section of the wall of the bottle is part of the fragment. Five sherds of internally glazed earthernware pottery. All have been identified as early East Dorset (Verwood) product. The fabric is oxidised with fine sand temper and sparse inclusions of iron rich pieces (up to 4 mm). The glaze is orangey-brown with darker brown mottles. A copper alloy fragment of a chafing vessel dating from the medieval to post medieval period, c. AD 1400-1600.
The fragment is a lug from a larger vessel handle. The lug is formed of a sub-oval body with one end narrower than the other. An oval hole is pierced through the centre of this body which is placed around the frame. At the narrow end of the lug's body is a projecting rectangular collar with a short oval platform protruding from it.

The foot is sub-trapezoidal in cross section, with the front, broad, face cast into three parallel longitudinal ribs and a central longitudinal ridge on the reverse. The underside is slightly concave and shows signs of sooting.

A sherd of Post Medieval earthenware pottery with internal glaze. East Dorset (Verwood) industry. The fabric is sandy and originally oxidised to a buff colour. It has since become a reduced grey as a result of secondary firing during use in a hearth. The internal surface is glazed dark green. A base sherd from a tripod footed cooking vessel, probably a pipkin. There is the scar from the loss of one of the feet at the edge of the flat base.
