A flat circular copper alloy object, probably a strap mount or brooch , the front of which has a convex surface which is recessed in the centre around a central raised boss. The boss is covered in a smooth bright green substance, possibly decayed enamel. There are traces of possible silvering around the inner edge of the copper alloy rim, the silver appears in rounded blobs suggesting that it could have been in contact with fire. The rear of the item is slightly convex with two rectangular lugs to one edge with circular notches cut out of them suggesting the possibility that a bar for …

A Roman circular copper alloy and enamelled mount with a central circular hole. On the back is a pair of T-shaped projections, presumably for attachment to a strap, though this is not clear. The front of the mount has an annular cell infilled with blue enamel. Within the enamel is a series of closely-spaced white millefiori spirals. The mount is probably from horse gear. A small number of similar objects is recorded on the PAS database and the similarity with certain plate brooches has been noted (eg BH-F9B471, ESS-7E7BB6, WILT-B03D73).

An incomplete "amphora" strap end dating to the Roman period, c. AD 300-410. The strap end consists of two parts, the larger trapezoidal plate and an attached rectangular sheet of folded copper alloy. This is flattened in cross section, and is attached to the larger trapezoidal part by folding around a flattened rectangular attachment bar. This is secured by a circular rivet. The aperture created for this attachment is also rectangular in shape. This attachment bar is the widest point of the strap end, which narrows to the fastening. It is decorated with ring and dot decoration-…
