The mount has a central oval plate with a projection top and bottom. The top projection is in the form of a crown, the lower one is a crude fleur-de-lys. A complete medieval copper-alloy bar mount with symmetrical hemispherical lobes: at either end a small one with squared off terminal, flanking a larger central one. There are drilled holes for separate rivets in each small lobes, both in situ. The mount is undecorated and generally flat on the reverse; the small lobes are hollow backed. A copper-alloy medieval strap slide, dating to the period AD 1350-1400. It is trapezoidal in shape with two internal triangular projections, of c.4mm, near the narrower end. It measures 31.58mm along its front edge externally and 25.56mm across the rear of the frame and internally could have accommodated a strap up to c.22mm wide. The frame is 21.29mm from front to back. The slide weighs 3.10g. The longer front edge is decorated with a knop at either end, and a central knop flanked on either side by a ridge. An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy strap fitting with integral pointed lugs, dating to cAD1600 - 1700. See Read Metal Artefacts of Antiquity 2001 p 29 and 37 fig22 no 334 for very similar. The strap fitting is in the form of an acorn but the 'stem' end has broken away leaving just a stump. The surface is largely worn away but the knop at the lower end of the acorn is extant and the slightly raised ridge which depicts the mouth of the cup of the acorn can be seen.
