An Early Medieval copper alloy strap end, probably dating to AD 750-950. The strap end is sub-rectangualr in plan with convex sides, the attachment end is transversely split with two rivet holes (one incomplete); one containing iron corrosion products. The strap end has a simple moulded zoomorphic terminal, with incised sub-oval ears containing punched crescents. The strap end is decorated with a single field of incised geometric decoration. The object is broadly rectangular with parallel sides and a zoomorphic terminal with rounded edges and corners that is sub-rectangular in cross section. An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1450. The object is one sheet from a two-piece of a composite strap end strap end. The plate is sub-rectangular with two triangular notched cut-outs at the top edge and two circular rivets near the corners. One of the holes retains traces of an iron rivet. resulting in a zig-zag appearance. The lower edge is rounded. Both sides of the plate are undecorated. A Medieval copper alloy composite strap end, probably dating to c. AD 1275-1450. The strap end is sub-rectangualr in plan, with a grooved aperture at the attachment and and a pointed knop at the terminal. The strap end comprises of two copper alloy sheet plates affixed to a central copper alloy forked spacer, probably with solder. Two separate copper alloy rivets survive at the attachment end. The terminal of an Early Medieval copper alloy strap end dating to the period cAD750 - cAD1100. The fragment has broken part way down the strap end with probably about the bottom third or quarter remaining. This section is broad with parallel sides running to a semi-circular end. The openwork piece has 11 worn, mostly oval or sub-oval perforations. They are irregularly arranged and no-symmetrical but there is not enough of them remaining for the pattern to be identified and the raised sections between are extremely worn. A copper alloy strap end. The strap end had a long, Integral, split plate, the rear element of which is missing. The front plate is taperaing and decorated with three groups of transverse grooves and pairs of ridges. Between these are two raised, square panels with triangular notches at the sides. An copper alloy strap end dating to c.1350-1500. Comprising three sheet metal plates of a composite sheet-metal strap end with a forked spacer. The plates are tongue shaped with scalloped upper edges at the attachment end and a rounded central knop at the terminal end. There is material remaining between the plates which may be the remnant of the leather strap. The front and reverse are undecorated.
