A biconical lead plumb bob possibly dating from the 12th-15th century. There are the corroded remains of an iron suspension loop running through the object. A good parallel for this form of plumb bob was recovered from excavations at the College of Vicars Choral, York, between 1973-1980. Although the York example, dated to the 12th-13th century, had a copper alloy suspension hook (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2705-6, no. 14511). It is possible that this plumb bob may be later medieval in date.
