An incomplete medieval copper-alloy folding strap clasp, dating to c. AD 1350 - 1400. It is composed of a rectangular frame with a separately attached plate. The buckle is almost square in shape and has a separately attached bar at the outer edge which would have held the missing folding clasp. A twisted, but complete medieval copper-alloy probable buckle plate (c. 13th century). The plate is sub-rectangular, and terminates in a protruding zoomorphic head. It is folded at the frame end; the frame is missing. There is a central cut out for the pin. The fold is short to the reverse, truncated at the first of two rivet holes; it also tapers to its end on that face, giving it a trapezoidal shape. An incomplete and damaged cast copper-alloy single-looped buckle frame of medieval date. The artefact is an irregular D-shape with prominent protruding outer edge such that it tends towards the sub-trapezoidal. The sides of the frame have been bent; one is truncated, a loss that extends to the bar. A post medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle, dating to AD 1550-1650. The buckle is formed of two symmetrical D shaped loops. The frame has a trapezoidal cross section. The centre bar is narrowed from the frame with a pointed knop at either end and has a trapezoidal cross section. The outer edges of both loops are knopped and decorated with a moulded sexfoil motif. A post-medieval pewter buckle, dating to AD 1660-1720. The frame is oval in plan and convex in cross section. The separately applied iron bar and the pin are missing. Where the central bar was attached, at either side and above on the front of the frame are two grooved triangular mouldings, asides from this, the buckle is undecorated. Below the mouldings, on the inside of the frame are two circular holes for the attachment of the bar. These are now filled with iron corrosion. The back of the buckle is undecorated. The double oval looped frame has a moulded shell like knop in the centre of each loop and a small knop at each end of the narrowed strap bar. The shell shaped knops have convex curved outer edges and converge to an inner point that projects into the loop slightly. An incomplete Medieval (1350 - 1450 AD) copper alloy oval, lipped buckle frame of Meols Type 4, missing its pin. The bar is slightly flattened, narrowed and offset. The slightly expanded point (lip) in the centre of the outer edge of the frame has an incised transverse notch for the pin. The buckle measures 17.79mm in length, 15.03mm in width, 1.79mm in thickness and weighs 0.83g. Similar buckle frames from London (Egan & Pritchard 1991: 70, nos.279-283) date between AD 1350 and 1450.

A Medieval cast copper-alloy pin from a circular buckle. The pin is sub-circular in cross section. The loop, which would have attached it the pin to the buckle, has an old break on its lower section.
