A Medieval sheet copper-alloy book clasp, dating to c. AD 1200 - 1400. Howsam type A8.4 The clasp is formed of a single sheet of copper-alloy, folded in half at the terminal and secured at the attachment end with a single rivet. There is a further single flat headed rivet in the loop. There is a circular lobe adjacent to the terminal, it is hollow domed. From the lobe there is a tapering loop. The rear is plain in design.
