Severus Alexander apparently struck this coinage in connection with an 'enigmatic ... '"reform" in c. 229 celebrated with dupondii inscribed Restitvtor Mon (Alexander standing) and Mon Restitvta (Moneta standing). The nature of this event is a mystery, though it may be a celebration of the effectiveness of Alexander's decision in 222 to abandon the inflationary double-denariu…
