Severus Alexander apparently struck this coinage in connection with an 'enigmatic ... The nature of this event is a mystery, though it may be a celebration of the effectiveness of Alexander's decision in 222 to abandon the inflationary double-denariu…

The direct distance between the two ends of the circumference is 14.7mm, while the edges that approximate radii are 13.3mm and 11.6mm long. The piece is 1.9mm thick and weighs 1.25g.
