A corroded and encrusted iron buckle of probable post Medieval to modern date.
The buckle frame has a D-shaped left-hand end and much wider,rectangular, right-hand side.The frame appears to be square in section, although corrosion hinders a definite conclusion. The pin extends vertically across the rectangular end of the frame, being attached at the top.
The object is probably from a harness of circa 17th to early 19th century date. Length of buckle: 62.92 mm. Width: 41.48 mm. Thickness: 6.62 mm. Weight: 25 grams.

A iron double-loop-trapezoidal buckle frame constructed from rectangular bar and probably dating from the post-Medieval period.
The iron pin is attached to a restriction in the rectangular strap bar, though this is not visible due to corrosion deposits. The pin is of flat sheet and tapers to a point. There is a similar piece in Ross Whitehead's book of buckles, page 88 No 546. Length of frame: 46.01 mm. Width: 43.07 mm to 36.40 mm. Thickness 5.40 mm. Weight 23 grams.

A corroded iron double-loop buckle of probable post-Medieval to modern date.
Theframe is asymmetrical, with one rectangular side and one, much shorter, D-shaped side. The pin has been looped around the horizontal top side of the frame's rectangular portion and hangs vertically, its point resting on the bottom side.

A corroded iron frame from a post-Medieval two-piece buckle.
The frame is sub-rectangular in plan, having rounded corners and a rhomboidal cross section. There is only a remnant of the iron axis bar, contained within a hole in the frame.

Iron annular buckle. Small shoe buckle. Frame and pin are corroded. The circular frame has a circular section. The frame is distorded slightly by corrosion. The pin is hooked around one side of the frame and tapers slightly.
