The heart is a symbol for love. There is a split in the band where it has posiibly been cut to resize it. The exterior is undecorated. A Post Medieval gold finger ring. A posy ring with the internal inscription Let vertue be thy guide in italic lettering. There is no maker’s or other mark. The hoop has a D-shaped cross section and is slightly distorted into an oval shape. Dimensions: 21.70 mm x 2.25 mm x 0.80 mm Weight: 1.78 g This inscription is common on rings from the later 17th to mid-18th century. Judy Rudoe of the British Museum has noted that in the absence of a makers mark there is insufficient evidence to confirm that the ring was over 300 years old when fond in 2021 (pers comm 18/11/2022).

A gold Iron Age Gallo-Belgic quarter stater, dating to the period c.80-60 BC, Gallo-Belgic D / Boat Tree type. Obverse: Boat with two occupants? Pellet to left. Reverse: Tree-like motif, wedge shaped line to either side, forked line below.  The weight of this coin, combined with the pellet in obverse field and wedge shaped motifs in reverse field suggest that this is probably a Gallo-Belgic D rather than an insular British type. The pendant is sub-triangular in form and consists of a gold frame which encloses a slightly bi-convex piece of rock crystal. The frame is constructed from gold sheet, with rectangular strips along each upper edge and sub-triangular sheets on front and back with an aperture cut to house the rock crystal. The base was left open, presumably for insertion of the rock crystal, and was then sealed with a separate strip of sheet gold with the other sides of the frame folded over it to hold it in place. At the apex is a separately applied circular suspension loop. The gold frame is decor…
