A finely worked flint barbed-and-tanged arrowhead dating from the Early Bronze Age. The arrowhead is small, and has a small length-breadth ratio meaning it is classifed as a 'Sutton' type. It is brownish-grey in colour and measures 20.29mm long, 20.75mm wide, 4.55mm thick and weighs 1.48g. The barbs and tang are rounded.

Two Bronze Age scrapers made from re-worked patinated flakes. 1) A blueish-grey flint flake had developed a blueish-white patina before being re-worked with steep invasive re-touch around two edges during the Bronze Age to form a side and end scraper. D-shaped and measuring 41.13mm long, 44.00mm wide, 13.20mm thick and weighing 26.95g. 2) A Bronze Age end scraper fabricated from a flake that has been struck from a core which had already developed a greyish-white patina. D-shaped, measuring 33.84mm long, 36.05mm wide, 13.19mm thick and weighing 16.26g.

Three Bronze Age flint awls of varying shapes and sizes. The largest is a triangular shaped flake that has been fabricated in such a way as to possibly form two workable points. The larger of the potential points has become broken at some time and may once have been c. 20mm longer than its present length of c. 30mm. This protrusion is 16.3mm wide and 12.0mm thick. The other point is set at approximately 90 degrees to the first and is much thinner and shorter. the third point of the triangle is unworked. The flint has a well developed white patina over buff-brown flint (revealed where …

An Early Bronze Age 'Y-shaped' tool. The purpose of this tool type is not clear and this example is not particularly finely worked. The flint has a light blueish-grey patina and measures 59.83mm long, 36.78mm wide at the top of the 'Y' and 18.95mm wide at the tail. It is thickest at the tip of the tail (11.88mm), where there is steep but rough re-working around all edges, and 8.29mm thick at the top of the 'Y'. The tool weighs 22.92g.

A possible denticulated scraper dating from the Middle-Late Bronze Age. It comprises a large part of a flint nodule with cortex surviving on all sides except the ventral surface, which is flat and smooth. One edge appears to have been coarsely re-worked to form a rough scraper. However, the edge seems very sharp and new and it may be that this effect has occurred 'naturally' through the action of vehicles running over the object. Flint does not occur naturally in this area but the object was found in the verge of a lane and it may have been imported as rough metalling. The object meas…

A small fragment of gold strip tapering to a tongue-shaped terminal, where it has been pierced, slightly off-centre. The piercing has been carried out from the slightly less dull side. The piece is very weathered, and there is some cracking across the width where it seems to have been folded. Surviving length 38.5mm; maximum surviving width 10.5mm; thickness less than 0.5mm; weight 1.63 grams. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content of 84-87 %, silver content of 10-13 %, the remainder being copper. The fragment is part of a larger piece, whi…

Late Bronze Age/ Early Iron Age copper alloy razor. The razor is crescet shaped and thicker along the back edge, tapering to a sharp cuting edge. The cutting edge is pitted through corrosion but otherwise damage is minimal. Two small circular holes (4.04mm diameter) at either end of the back of the razor are presumably for attaching the blade to some kind of handle. A good parallel for this object can be seen among the metal finds from Potterne in Wiltshire (Lawson, 2000, 188-9). This razor, with a convex cutting edge, two perforations and tapering cross section, is described as 'of a…
