A copper alloy book clasp of Howsham type A.3. A rectangular plate of sheet copper alloy with a narrowed hook at one and and a flared terminal the other. There is a single attachment hole at the centre of the flared end which retains traces of an iron rivet. The front of the plate is decorated with four equally spaced rows of stamped lozenges across the width (the attachment hole is in the middle of the last of the rows.
