Obverse: Shield [bearing two towers of Tournai in chief and two lis in base], in a 14-arched tressure. Reverse: Cross patty with quatrefoil in each angle. A two disc lead cloth seal. The seal is formed of two oval discs joined by an integral rivet on the rear decorated disc passing through a circular hole in the other disc. One disc is moulded with a design of a probable crowned portcullis within a beaded border and surrounded by a legend, now largely illegible. It comprises a now broken copper alloy band in two pieces, originally circular. It lacks the usual separately applied copper alloy loop which would have been set into the a central recessed groove runs around the circumference of the exterior of the band.
